Short curriculum vitae of Dr.Muslih Mustafa (Soran University president)

• PhD in Islamic Theology
• Established the first Cultural Centre in Choman, 1994-1995
• Co-founded the Islamic Ideology Forum in Erbil, 2005
• Member of the Higher Committee responsible for the reform of the Civil Law
• Member of the Higher Committee for the reform of the law encompassing Domestic Violence
• Founding President of Soran University (2009)
• Co-initiated the introduction of the Bologna Process for the government-funded universities of the Kurdistan Region in 2015
• Given speeches and lectures at international events and conferences

Established several strategic partnerships and collaborations including:
 The Centre for Language and Academic Development (CLAD) with Marjon University (shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Awards)
 Launched a ‘road map’ for the establishment of a campus at Soran Universityby the University of Leicester; this will be the first collaboration of its kind in the whole of Iraq
 Establishment of a Pearson Language Testing Centre with the University of Leicester
 Collaboration agreement with the University of Central California
 Partnership agreement with Lund University
 Research Centre for Gender Studies in collaboration with the United Nations
