Soran University held its eighth graduation ceremony on 8th Nov 2017 attended by Dr Muslih Mustafa, President of Soran University and members of the University Council, teachers, guests, and families of the graduates.

Soran University Manuscript and Archive Department, using their relationship with archive and Kurdology centers have managed to retrieve more than eighty Kurdish manuscripts from the years 1848-1866 by the renowned researcher and Kurdologist Alexander Jaba who was the Russian ambassador in Arazrum at that time.
A conference entitled ‘Kurdistan and Iraq: unite or depart ? was held in the United States Congress on Monday 24th July 2017 and was attended by Dr Muslih Mustafa, President of Soran University.
This latest work from Soran University has been written and published in collaboration with international academic centres and organizations; the book, entitled ‘The Kurdistan Region of Iraq: the Road Forward’ has been published with the Johns Hopkins University and the Brookings Institute; it is published in two volumes of almost 250 pages and consists of various of articles concerning the characteristics of Kurdistan society, including political and social issues in Kurdistan and has been written by renowned national and international political personalities .
A Delegation from Soran University (SU) attended the Association of Arab Universities (AARU) Meeting
After receiving an invitation from the Association of Arab Universities (AARU),a delegation from Soran University, led by Dr Kamal Odesho, the Dean of SU's Scientific Research Centre, received a warm welcome when they attended a special a meeting held by AARU at Al-Zaytoonah University in Jordon on the 4th December 2016. A great number of Arab universities sent representatives to attend the meeting during which the SU delegation met with a number of delegates from other universities.
