Course Objective
Modern statistical concepts and methods developed in a mathematical framework: statistical inference, some properties of point estimator, point and interval estimation (Confidence Intervals.), hypothesis testing, Neyman-Pearson theory
Grading
The students are required to do two closed book exams before the final exam. Each exam has 15 marks, the attendance, classroom activities 10 marks. There will be final exam on 60 marks. So that the final grade will be based upon the following criteria:
Mid-semester Exam: 30%
Classroom participation and assignments 10%
Final exam 60%

Attendance is required and will be taken at the beginning of each class. If you must miss a class it is your responsibility to contact me to get your assignments

Week 2: Chapter One: Some definition of statistic Inference Some Parametric distribution.
Week 3: Independent random variable.
Week 4: Transformation of variable.
Week 5: Order Statistics.
Week 6: Independent random variable of Order Statistics.
Week 7: Chapter two: Method of estimator:
i) moment method
Week 8: ii) Likelihood estimation and same method.
Week 9: Chapter three: Properties of point estimator :
i) Unbiasedness.
Week 10: ii)Mean squired error.
iii) Efficiency .
Week 10: iv)Consistency.
Week 12: v) Sufficiency .
Week 13: Exponential Family.
Week 14: Rao-Blakwell theorem.
