On the 17th January 2016, the Turkish General Consul, Mr Mehmet Akif Inam, accompanied by a delegation, visited Soran University and was received by Dr Muslih Mustafa, President of Soran University as well as the Vice Presidents of Soran University.
On the 9thand 10thof December 2015, Soran University's Career Development Centre (CDC) staff, with assistance from theInternational Research and Exchanges Board (IREX) and the American Embassy in Iraq, held a workshop, entitled 'Developing Personal Capacities for Post-Graduation Success.’ The workshop was exclusive to students from all faculties of Soran University.
"Gender equality is one of the basic rights of human beings, and we have to endeavour to achieve gender equality rights in the same way that we, as a nation, endeavour to achieve independence. Today we are going to take a step forward in this process."
On the 7th December 2015Soran University honored Mr Krmanj Izzet, Mayor of Soran; the ceremony was hosted by Dr Muslih Mustafa, President of Soran University with Dr Rushdie Samad, Vice-President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr Nahro Zagros, Vice-President for Scientific Affairs, and deans of the faculties of Soran University were in attendance.
