With their deep concern and sympathy for displaced children, the students of Soran University, in cooperation with the UNHCR and the Sweden organization, Qandil, arranged a program entitled the Brightening Project: a one month educational course for displaced children who are now settled in Soran.

Mr. Karez Zozk, the project’s supervisor and one of the inspiring students of the Faculty of Engineering declared in a statement for the University’s website: “the project was a voluntary one; fifteen students from Soran University had participated in a voluntary capacity for the month. What we saw in these children’s eyes at the end of the course was the light of hope to continue their lives.”
