Monday the 25th August 2018 saw the Second Conference held by the Kurdish Language Department in the Faculty of Education; entitled Kurdish language dialects and identity it was held in the presence of his Excellency Dr Muslih Mustafa, President of Soran University, Vice Presidents, Deans of Faculties, Dr Hiwa Kurdistany, Dean of the Faculty of Education, many local and foreign researchers as well as a considerable number of teachers and students.

Soran University is organizing its first national conference about the oil and gas industry in 2018 with support from both the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry Of Natural Resources of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

Soran University Repossesses Alexander Jaba’s Archives and Manuscripts

Soran University Manuscript and Archive Department, using their relationship with archive and Kurdology centers have managed to retrieve more than eighty Kurdish manuscripts from the years 1848-1866 by the renowned researcher and Kurdologist Alexander Jaba who was the Russian ambassador in Arazrum at that time.

Iraqi Kurdistan Region: A Path Forward

This latest work from Soran University has been written and published in collaboration with international academic centres and organizations; the book, entitled ‘The Kurdistan Region of Iraq: the Road Forward’ has been published with the Johns Hopkins University and the Brookings Institute; it is published in two volumes of almost 250 pages and consists of various of articles concerning the characteristics of Kurdistan society, including political and social issues in Kurdistan and has been written by renowned national and international political personalities .
