Mr Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, Mr Nawzad Hadi, Governor of Erbil, Dr Yusuf Goran, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and a number of officials and members of Soran University staff attended the opening ceremony of the Kurdistan Centre for Gender Studies (KCGS) on the 2th December 2015.
The ceremony began at eleven in the morning with a minute's silence for Kurdish martyrs. Dr Muslih Mustafa then gave a speech welcoming the attendees; he focused on the importance of the KSGS and Soran University's strategies and plans to operate the centre.
Mr Qubad Talabani, Dr Yusuf Goran, Mr Nawzad Hadi, Indai Sajor, Representative of the United Nation, Mr Haidar Sanjari, Representative of the Ministry of Planning and Mrs Pakhshan Zangana, Head of Women's High Council also gave speeches.
Finally Dr Nahro Zagros, Acting Vice President of Soran University for Scientific Affairs, gave a presentation to introduce the sections, responsibilities, and projects of the centre.
