On Wednesday, April 15, 2019, the symposium of the role of the University of Soran in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic was held. The symposium was organized by the faculty of science at Soran University. Each and every one of the respected p. Yay. Y. Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurtas, university head, university council members, health officials, scientific head and a large number of faculty teachers and students attended. The start of the day, Dr. Ayad Nouri, the defender of the faculty of science, gave a speech. In his statement, he referred to the role of universities as a major institution in tackling the crisis especially during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He talked about how the university was able to play an effective role in the crisis based on social responsibility. He also referred to the role of the University of Soran as the first university across Iraq and Kurdistan which could be an important factor in reducing the burden on the government and this was a good facilitation for the citizens. It indicated that the University of Soran is responsible for the crisis of the community and among them the crisis of the Covid-19 pandemic.
