On Thursday, November 3, 2022, Soran University President AP.Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurtas received a delegation from the University of St. Cyril and Methodius from Slovakia, headed by Dr. Katrina Slobdova. The meetings were attended by Bayan University President Dr. Ahmed Dizayi. A memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed during the meeting.
A joint meeting between the Universities of Soran and St. Cyril and Methodius was held on the campus of Soran University and the Faculty of Science. It was attended by Soran University President AP.Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurtas, Prof.Dr. Sirwan Zand, President’s assistant for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Ayad Nuri, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Prof.Dr. Samir Mustafa, Head of the Scientific Research Center.
In the beginning, Soran University President expressed his happiness and welcomed the visiting delegation. He highlighted the works, and the scientific and administrative programs of Soran University, and explained its strategies. The guest delegation expressed its gratitude and appreciation for the warm welcome, and a number of academic issues were discussed among universities.
The discussions led to the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two universities. The MOU aims to build broad academic relationships between the two universities.
The guest delegation visited, then, the laboratories and the scientific departments of the Science Faculty and the Scientific Research Center.
