On the 13th October 2014 the Faculty of Law held a panel discussion to examine the Master’s dissertation submitted by Mr Omed Saed Khdhr, the first post graduate student to study for his Master’s degree within the Faculty of Law at Soran University.

His dissertation was entitled ‘The Effects of Parliamentary Immunity'. This is the first time a panel has been convened in the Faculty of Law to debate a Master’s dissertation.

Head of the panel was Assistant Professor Dr Shoresh Hasan Omer from Sulaimanyia University; other members were:

- Assistant Professor Dr Majid Khdhr Ahmed from Soran University

- Dr Basharat Raza Mahmud from Soran University

- Dr Ardalan Nuradin Mahmud [Master’s Supervisor] from Soran University

After an intense discussion, Mr Omed Saed Khdhr was awarded his Master of Law degree.

This is another landmark in the success story of Soran University; with the commitment and enthusiasm of the lecturers providing effective post graduate supervision, Soran University now awards both Master’s and Doctorate degrees.
