On 31/5/2014, with the presence of the president of Soran University and a number of guests, Soran University invited the Turkish writer and researcher, Ismaeel Beshikchi, who is also the defender of Kurdish rights.
In the beginning of the ceremony the president of university, Dr. Mulsih Mustafa, welcomed the guests and then gave a short talk. In his talk, on behalf of the university and Kurdish people, Dr. Muslih thanked Beshikchi for the sufferings he had in prisons for the sake of Kurds.
Then Dr. Muslih stated: "Known cannot be introduced. Beshikchi has defended Kurds and it needs that defence. So, now Kurds do not forget Beshikchi and they appreciate his 52-year support for the Kurdish question."
Later, on behalf of the Soran office of Kurdistan Parliament, Farhan Jawhar, highlighted the activities of Beshikchi and thanked Soran University for arranging this event. Then, Mr. Frhan said that Beshikchi must be introduced to the whole society because, as he stated, Beshikchi has been a direct defender of Kurdish rights and he has not been afraid of any sentences and has expressed his thought clearly.
After that, Beshikchi gave a seminar and highlighted some quick points on Kurdish history. And he also said that throughout history Kurds have been the victims of the colonialists and other powerful countries. Beshikchi stated that despite all the miseries that Kurds have experienced, there is a lighter future waiting for them.
Dr. Beshikchi expressed his excitement for this event and honouring by Soran University. He also said that Soran University has been able to make huge steps forward in a very short time and if it continues, it can make greater things. He expressed his gratitude for this warm welcome.
In the end, Dr. Muslih Mustafa gave Dr. Beshikchi the logo of Soran University for his attempt to defend Kurdish cause.
