As part of Soran University’s  long-term plan to build closer relationships between university and community, a delegation from Soran University ,led by Dr Muslih Mustafa, President of Soran University, Dr Rushdie Samad, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr Yadgar Rasul, Vice President for Students' Affairs and Dr Kamal Yousef, Director of the Scientific Research Centre along with a group of academic staff from the university ,visited the Mayoralty of Choman town as well as other academic and educational offices.

Ata meeting held in the Mayoralty hall, Dr Muslih announced the opening of a faculty to meet the needs of the area. This decision was greeted with enthusiasm byall the attendees who described it as a 'historical decision' for the development of the education and higher education sectors in the area. The attendees at the meeting showed their willingness to help.

The same delegation is also expected to go to Mergesor in the coming days to give the citizens of Mergesor the same message.
