On the 16th June 2015, a delegation led by Dr Muslih Mustafa, President of Soran University and all three Vice Presidents, as well as a number of Soran University staff – visited the frontlines of the Peshmerga forces on the Bashik Front. This visit was part of Soran University’s campaign of support for the Peshmerga forces that defend the stability and security of Kurdistan. The delegation handed the Peshmerga forces material help donated by Soran University staff.
The delegation met with Brigade Commander Musa Gardi, of the Halgurd Army, and Major General Bahram Arif Yasin, of Soran’s Seventh Brigade; they then met some of the Peshmerga forces who thanked Soran University for its support and described it as morale-boosting. The Soran University delegation highlighted the role of the Peshmerga in defending Kurdish people and securing freedom and peace in the region.
