Experienced in both strategic and tactical political/militaryanalysistwith experience that spans the cold war through the current Middle East situation. Beginning as a Soviet analyst assessing tactical capabilities as well as senior political issues that arose within the politburo and the impact on US doctrine.  Following the collapse of the Soviet Union transitioned to analysis of North Korea,finally to the Middle East. With-in my portfolio I covered Iran, Syria and Iraq. The area of concentration in Iraq was the Kurdish region and its interaction with the Iraqi central government, Iran and Turkey. Including the study of all Kurdish political movements in Iraq, Turkey, Iran, and Syria

Founder and president of JANUS Think, a consulting organization dedicated to supporting the government contractor and commercial companies in business development. JANUS Thinks supports research and writing of government requests for proposal. I have been requested to be an expert analysist on both NRT and Rudaw, the major Television and news outlets in Iraqi Kurdistan, and Sky News in the UK. Senior Counterintelligence Analyst for government customer working current issues relating to an assigned region. I produced a number of different products to include Defense Intelligence Notes, regional assessments and briefing slides. I also briefed senior military and political leaders and members of the Intelligence Community. My analysis covered political, military and industrial/commercial topics              

March 2005 – February 2012

BAE Systems, McLean VA

Program Manager for a 12-million-dollar contract of 89 FTEs managing all aspects of the contract including personnel and finance. I have worked all aspects of contract management from soliciting proposals and working the proposal process to managing successful contracts to close.

I was influential in expanding the type of products provided and in transitioning my office from a crisis center into a long-range analytic office. I was instrumental in facilitating the coordination of contractor deployments to US Government operational sites. Through close cooperation with the customer ensuring all training, certification and relevant paperwork is done.

Prior to becoming Project Manager I was a seniorintelligence analyst for political and military operation for the US Governmentfor both the Iraq and Afghanistan theater. As a team chief, my responsibilities included planning production and ensuring team products accuracy and timely delivery.As an analysist, I became the Kurdish Subject Matter Expert on Iraqi Kurdistan for a Department of Defense intelligence agency.

I produced Briefing slides, Executive Highlights, Defense Intelligence Assessments, Defense Intelligence Digest Articles and Defense Intelligence Reports as well as Presidential Daily Briefs.

I was a by name requested briefer for senior government and foreign officials and staff briefer of senior military leadership including Joint Chiefs of Staff J2.

02/2003 - 02/2005            Lead Intelligence Analyst              U.S. Army,

DIA Iraq Division (MEA-4, IZWG, Office of Iraq Analysis, MNA-1 IZIC), I was responsible for Military

and Political intelligence production in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. My duties included

production of target folders, current intelligence products to include Chairman Joint Chiefs of

Staff Morning Brief, Executive Highlights, and Information Papers. In addition, I developed and trained

teams of both military and civilian analyst in production issues and analytic tradecraft, specific to all

source analysis. My team responded to over a thousand task requests from war fighters and was cited

 with a national intelligence community team award.

10/1979 –  07/2010                            U.S. Army Reserve/National Guard                               


NCOIC of the 3100 Strategic Intelligence Group Det 1. Beyond the job of NCOIC, I was the lead analyst for MNA-3 Syria/Lebanon. My team coordinated with the IC on military and political issues affecting the tasked countries in regional and international activities. Areas of concentration included foreign fighter flow and regional activities of HAMAS and others groups.

As an intelligence analyst, I was NCOIC of the OPFOR cell with the 77th Division and was responsible for planning operations in support of Division and higher simulation exercises. Objective was to ensure OPFOR doctrine and red think was implemented and to use tactical intelligence during the exercise to oppose blue force operations.

With both the 3406th and 3418th Military Intelligence Detachment (MID) I performed strategic intelligence functions in the research and writing of products on Iraq, Iran and Syria to include Defense Analysis Reports and CKO products. Prior to OIF I developed in depth reports on radical Islam TTPs and briefed senior military officers in preparation for deployments. 

For the 77th Division NCOIC of OPFOR I supervised a team of intelligence professional who trained Brigade and above staffs in staff functions and duties. The unit mission was to operate within the doctrine of a potential OPFOR. For the NJ Army National Guard, I was the S2 section sergeant of the 1st Bde. 50th Armor Div. The 50th was capstone to 7th Army USAEUR and was in constant training to oppose Soviet forces. Beyond the tactical analysis, we were tasked with research and analysis on Soviet political and military doctrine and its impact on current situations

From 1972 to 1974, I was active duty with the 3d Armored Division providing division level admin support   stationed in the Federal Republic of Germany.


01/1996 - 03/2005            Regional Sales Manager                Solus Industrial Innovations

I managed a sales territory of 6 states including direct sales and distributor sales networks, which included approximately 700 personnel. I managed all aspects of the territory including business development, budget, and marketing. Customer marketing was directed to both end user and manufacture base.  I also managed the east coast headquarters and manufacturing facility in Aston PA on several occasions while the original company, ValueGuide of Rancho Santa Margarita CA acquired its main rival. Combined sales exceeded $50 million. I was responsible for sales and customer relations for several Fortune 500 accounts including Coca-Cola, Merck and Kraft Foods.

08/1995 - 12/1996            District Sales Manager   Hub City Corporation

With Hub City I managed a Tri-State District direct and distributor sales network. Hub City of Aberdeen SD is a subsidiary of Regal Beloit of Beloit WI, a major manufacturer of industrial gearboxes and other mechanical speed control devices. My responsibilities included maintaining and building business in current accounts and the acquisition of new business. I had direct contact with major original equipment manufacturers and a network of national and local distributors I was also responsible for marketing programs both video and print for the North-East sector.

12/1991 - 12/1995              Technical Sales/Support Manager            Electroid Corporation

I supervised a team of inside salespersons and engineers in the sales, development and marketing of electro-mechanical clutches and brakes. I maintained daily contact with both inside sales, the national sales force, production, advertisement and accounting. I was also involved in instituting and maintaining contracts for partnership companies such as Baldor Motors of Ft. Smith AR and Binder Gmbh of Germany. Electroid is a division of Valcor Engineering and a major supplier of low end clutches brakes and clutch-brake units. The partnership with Baldor allowed us to extend our line to brake-motors and with Binder we acquired a line that extended our size range upward.


08/1979 - 12/1991           Territory Salesmen          George A, Mathewson Company, Bobker Bearings Inc

I ran a local sales territory for a power transmission and material handling distributor. Starting in 1979, I began my career as an inside sales representative for engineered power transmission products, then a purchasing agent, and continued to become field sales representative for power transmission and bearing distributors in the NY-NJ-PA region. I consistently exceeded sales ad growth targets. With Bobker Bearings I was also the training manager for both sales and technical. In this capacity, I helped transition the company from a bearing distributor to a full line Power Transmission and Material Handling distributor. 

06/1975 – 08/1979 Various positions                               E.J.Korvettes New York City

Worked at various positons with-in a major retail department store. I was a floor salesman for seasonal, small appliances, and toys. I ended as the Department Manager for Sporting Goods and Photo.
