On Saturday, 28/8/2021, the PhD thesis of the student of the English Language Department of the Faculty of Arts, Kurdistan Rafiq Mahiadin, was examined. The thesis was entitled “Investigating Strategic  Manoeuvring in English and Kurdish Political Discourse”.

The jury committee consisted of the following members:

Prof. Abbas Fazil, Salahaddin University, member.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Rauf Karim, University of Sulaimaniyah, member.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Wrya Ahmed, Salahaddin University, member

Dr. Niaz Mahmoud Aziz, Soran University, member.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdulkareem Sherwani, Erbil Polytechnic University, member and supervisor.

 It is worth mentioning that after a detailed discussion and the student's defence on her thesis, the committee decided to award the PhD degree to the student, which is the first PhD thesis examined in English Language Department of the Faculty of Arts in Soran University.
