On Monday, October 24, 2022, a seminar was held entitled" Soran University’s Status in International Rankings". The seminar was attended by AP.Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurtas, Soran University’s President, members of the University Council, and a large number of lecturers, students, and employees.

Soran University’s President gave a speech at the beginning of the ceremony. Congratulating and praising teachers, students, and staff, he noted that the university had been able to make another achievement according to a well-established plan, hard work, fruitful efforts, clear strategy, teamwork action, effective research, and innovative scientific dissertations. Soran University was ranked first in the Kurdistan Region, and seventh throughout Iraq, according to the latest QS Foundation for universities classifications. 

" Such rankings and classifications are significant as they push universities to raise its scientific and academic level and address shortcomings, and promoting the spirit of innovative scientific and academic competition," he added. At the conclusion of his speech. he wished for more work and productivity to keep the university at the forefront of the scientific and academic process.

Afterward, Dr. Ali Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Education, gave a seminar on Soran University’s ranking first. He explained with accurate data and information, Soran University’s place in the classifications. He also highlighted all the plans, actions, and efforts behind Soran University’s leadership.

The organization of this seminar comes after Soran University ranked first among all universities in Kurdistan Region and seventh among all universities in Iraq, according to the latest announcement by the QS Foundation for universities classifications.
