On Wednesday, December 14, 2022, the History Department of the Faculty of Arts, held a forum at the Bishkji Hall, entitled: (A New Reading of the History of Sheikh Abd Al-Salam Barzani II), on the anniversary of the execution of Sheikh Abd Al-Salam Barzani II. The Forum was attended by Soran University President AP. Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurtas, members of the University Council, and a large number of lecturers, students, guests and staff.

Four Seminars were presented at the forum which was moderated by dr. Chnoor Jaafar Ahmed. Dr Fakhir Abubakir Ali’s subject was entitled: (Sheikh Abd Al-Salam Barzani, a Victim of Committee of Union and Progress Policy and the Kurd's Authority), dr. Bzhar Othman Ahmed entitled: (Sheikh Abd Al-Salam Barzani’s Quest for the Independence of Kurdistan in the Ottoman Documents), and Rebin Said Mala, entitled: The Relationship Between Said Taha Nahri and Sheikh Abd Al-Salam Barzani II).

The audience then enriched the forum with their questions and comments. In the final part of the Forum, Soran University President awarded certificates of participation to the participants.
