Tea Ivanovic is a Fellow at the Center for Transatlantic Relations at the SAIS Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C. Here, she is the editor and copyeditor for several CTR/The Brookings Institution publications, and the project manager for the annual Transatlantic Forum, projects related to Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan, North Africa, and the Western Balkans.

She completed her Master of Arts degree in International Relations and International Economics at The Johns Hopkins Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington D.C in May 2016. Tea obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in International Studies from Virginia Tech, Virginia, graduating Summa Cum Laude, Outstanding Senior of the Year for the Political Science and International Studies departments, and Phi Beta Kappa. Tea was involved with the organization for the 60th anniversary of the SAIS Europe Center, and acted as the Vice-President of the Women in International Affairs organization in Bologna, Italy.

Previously, Tea worked at the financial consultancy Capstone LLC, in Washington D.C., where she focused on European financial and banking systems. She was also at the Institute of International Finance (IIF), working on projects in the United States, Europe, and MENA region. During her graduate studies, she was a graduate research fellow at the Center for Constitutional Studies and Democratic Development (CCSDD) in Bologna, Italy. At the CCSDD, Tea researched the constitutional preambles of the countries of the Western Balkans. She also worked as a research assistant at the United Nations University Institute of Comparative Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS) in Bruges, Belgium. Here, she was the editor for United Nations University publications, and contributed to publications related to the European Union. She was also responsible for the organization of a joint UNU-CRIS and International Studies Association (ISA) conference in Bruges.

She published her thesis “External Pressures and Domestic Changes: The European Union, Council of Europe, and the Minorities in Vojvodina” in the academic journal publication Philologia, in May 2014. She contributed to a book publication on State (in)Security and Theory of International Relations with her former academic advisor and professor, Dr. Yannis Stivachtis. While at SAIS, Tea has written extensively for the school’s newspaper, the SAIS Observer, and co-written publications for the Huffington Post. Tea is currently the editor for the “Daily News” section of Oslobodjenje, a prominent Balkan daily newspaper.

Tea speaks Dutch, Serbo-Croatian, and English fluently, has a good command of French, and a basic knowledge of Italian and German.
